The ancient Egyptians created art, architecture, sculptures, and much more. They crafted sculptures of their pharaohs, queens, and gods. The art was created to appease gods. The ancient Egyptians were skilled with colored dye. The colors were so strong that they still can be seen today.
The Egyptians had specific art features that were often used, such as the face turned to the side and the lanky posture. There was almost always text accompanying the art piece. In Akhenaten's rule, he had many grotesque and intimate pieces of art made of his wife and him.

The Egyptians created sculptures as an art form too. For example, in the Old Kingdom, they crafted life size painted limestone sculptures of Prince Rahotep and his wife Nofret. (Khan Academy) This shows that they honored people of high power when they died. The Egyptians made the eyes from inlaid rock crystal in the picture to the right (Khan Academy) so the Egyptians put time and effort into the art that they created.

The ancient Egyptians highly valued personal adornment (Classroom Synonym). Jewelry was worn by everybody, men and women alike. Some examples of jewelry are amulets, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and much more finely crafted pieces of art. The Egyptians crafted the jewelry mainly from copper and gold, decorating it with jewels. They did not just wear the jewelry and eyeliner for looks, though. For example, the eyeliner was thought to protect them from evil spirits. Also, "Egyptian nobles did not carry their expensive jewelry during life, but they also wore it during death." (Jewelry in Ancient Egypt) This means that jewelry had a significance in the afterlife to Egyptians. Source Source |
Another art from that the ancient Egyptians crafted was pottery. The pottery often had intricate designs on it that depicted a story of important social or religious events. "Two male and two female figures stand aboard a boat, which is depicted with oars and two cabins. In the areas surrounding the boat are mountains, birds that may represent flamingos, plants, and water." (Metropolitan Museum of Art)
